Red Wagon

1987, People’s Park, Berkeley, California.

1987 was the first year that photography was my true passion. It consumed me. All of my free time was spent photographing, a lot in the streets of Berkeley and San Francisco. I took a lot of photographs of people living on the streets, homeless. And most of those photos were of the people themselves. While photographing portraits of people in People’s Park, I stepped out of my routine and took one frame of this wagon. Only later would I realize that among all the photos taken that day, this single frame was the only one with staying power.

As always, clicking the image will take you to the original in my PhotoShelter archive.
