Bio

A native of Northern California, Trent Nelson is currently Chief Photographer at The Salt Lake Tribune, where he has covered two Olympics, two NBA Finals, and the NCAA Basketball Final Four. Assignments have taken him throughout the United States, the Balkans, Africa, Honduras, and Moscow.

His work has won a number of awards including three Utah News Photographer of the Year titles as well as the Worst Photo of the Year Awards from the Utah News Photographers Association.

His 2003 composite photograph of Utah Jazz point guard John Stockton was published over six pages in Sports Illustrated, the largest photograph in the history of the magazine.

In 1985 Trent was a founding member of the Bay Area hardcore punk band Rabid Lassie and self-published zines from 1985-1996.
