Larry Miller and I crossed paths many, many times but never said more than a couple words to each other. Going through my archives I found many photos of Larry over the years. But this one is still my favorite. It ran in 1997 in a photo column I was doing at the time with the caption, “The Biggest Jazz Fan.”

Characters as large as Larry Miller are always missed. Here’s to you, Larry.
