Class Act

February 12, 2007

The other night the Jazz played the Knicks. Mehmet Okur scored 29 points while suffering from the flu, including hitting a key three-pointer to force overtime. On the final play, Knicks down two points, New York’s Jamal Crawford took a shot that missed and the Jazz won 104-102.

I decided to shoot wide on that last play. Showing the entire field of play on these dramatic moments is the best way to capture the reactions (in the players and the fans). I wish you could see this printed poster size. So much detail, so many emotions in the fans, the players, etc.

As I was editing through the rest of the sequence, something caught my eye. And I’m betting no one else saw this or paid any attention to it. Below this paragraph I’ve cropped in to what is happening behind the celebrating players. New York’s Crawford is prone on the court after missing his last shot. Jazz guard Derek Fisher walks over and offers him a hand up. Great show of sportsmanship.
